XOXO Handbags - Hugs & Kisses All Round!

XOXO handbags was founded by Gregg Fiene in 1991 with a couple of silent partners (Michelle and Marc Bohbot of Bisou Bisou). Oddly enough, XOXO handbags began from him first selling lycra spandex bodysuits and leggings and that sort of thing.

We’re lucky that he decided to get into other lines of clothes or we might not be here talking about these handbags today.

(Ironically, the fashion world is trying to tell us that leg warmers are back. We’ll see!!)

In 1996, XOXO decided to get into the handbag game. In 1999 Aris buys XOXO lock, stock and barrel. At least Aris decides to keep up with the handbag thing.

XOXO handbags has a couple of different collections going on right now but not a ton of bags in any one collection: Glam Slam Natural Straw Scoop Hobo, Loved Loved Lily in both a flap double handle and a T/Z Mini, Main Street in both a Mini Tote and a Mini Flap, Connection large satchel, Infatuation Log Satchel and Train Case, Harley Straw Top Zip, Hollywood Star Scoop Hobo, the Sugarfree Mini Shoulder Strap or metallic handle satchee, and the Peppermint Log Bags.

xoxo handbags raise new collections frequently but are sparing as to the number of bags in each collection.

The Glam Slam, Loved Loved Lily and Main Street lines all play with the XOXO motif; the XOXO motif is either woven into the jacquard fabric as it is for the Loved Loved Lily line or it’s printed on the cotton canvas combination material as it is for the Glam Slam and Main Street Lines. Bright colors accentuate the neutral bases of the handbags found in this collection.

The Harley Straw Top Zip comes in mint green, pale blue, pink and a natural linen color. The straw weave is punctuated with vinyl trim in the same color. Lots of mini studs give this bag a biker inspired feeling.

The Hollywood Star Scoop Hobo has a lot of trim and silver colored hardware, reminding you of a pleather jacket - but in a good way. You can pick this bag up in black or white.

The Peppermint Log Bag is too cute. It has a triple buckle belt motif on the front and two more belt buckles on the handles. You can pick it up in pink, mint green, pale blue, white and black.

Finally, the Sugarfree Mini line comes in metallic pink or pale green. Rivets adorn the trim around the flap and on the buckle closure.

Most XOXO handbags retail in the $38.00 to $48.00 range and are a great starting point for designer handbags collectors who are just starting on a limited budget.
