With the new Jaye Hersh Market Bags comes a jaw dropping reaction. Sadly, it’s one of surprise mingled with hThe Jaye Hersh Market Bags are truly hideousorror.

These get a resounding 4 out of 4 rejections from the Handbagista team.

The best thing I can say about these is they have a colorful material!

The Jaye Hersh Market bags do, sadly, remind me of those huge, oversize zip bags I use to keep spare duvets clean and dust free whilst stored in the closet. The ONLY reason I have those bags is because you can fold a double duvet into it fairly easily and it has handles for pulling the whole thing out later from underneath a pile of accumulated junk!

You can sort of get a hint as to where the idea came from though - they are very reminiscent of the LV Shopper handbags released last year. And although we love LV in general, we panned those too! This is just an occurrence of one design following another because of the name, not because it has any appeal as an item on it’s own.

Now, there is an element of charity to these bags that gains them a grace and favor vote. However, the more cynical amongst us might be ruminating that the donation of $35 to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) for each Market Bag sold is more fuelled by a desire to create a marketing push than to actually do good.

Before we get inundated with comments about how all the movie stars are buying these awful things “so they can’t be that bad” - the argument that the Hollywood Elite are buying them in droves smacks more of wanting to be seen doing the right and charitable thing rather than what they should be doing - quietly working for the charities directly or donating a % of earnings under the old “Anon” user-name!

All it needs now is for Pish Spoce to start wearing them and they’ll be dead by this time tonight!
